Edward Ilyayev works on general corporate matters, business transactions, regulatory compliance, employment, and complex commercial disputes in the health care sector.
Edward represents individuals, health care providers, not-for-profit corporations, and various business entities in a wide range of business transactions, such as sales, acquisitions, financing, corporate formation and governance. Edward takes an active role in handling acquisitions, including performing due diligence, drafting purchase agreements, navigating through regulatory requirements for completing a change of ownership and other ancillary documents.
Edward provides legal services for day-to-day regulatory and compliance requirements issued by the New York State Department of Health, the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and many other state and federal regulators. This includes assisting health care providers with creating and drafting company policies that comply with state and federal employment laws, and Medicaid statutes and regulations.
In addition, Edward assists in handling the firm’s civil and commercial litigation practice, including disputes dealing with breach of contract, fraudulent misrepresentation, and employment discrimination.
While attending St. John’s University School of Law, Edward served as a legal intern for the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and served as a judicial intern to Hon. Leonard Livote of the New York State Supreme Court – Commercial Division.
